Here are a few things I find myself saying repeatedly this year:
Well, you are allowed to think that way if you want to.
You can be pretty, stylish, cute, quirky, and beautiful, but not sexy. You are not available for sex.
We still have not decided when you can date.
I will check it out and get back to you. Oh, you already brought it up on Common Sense Media and are holding out my IPad to me? (dangit)
Yes, I am confident a boy is going to think you are beautiful and want to marry you. Probably more than one.
Yes, Adam Levine is cute.
It is totally normal and okay for you to not know what you want to do with your life right now.
No, shorts that reach your fingetrips are not considered LONG.
Do you have your phone with you and is it charged?
No, you cannot friend people online that you don't know in real life. Where is that To Catch A Predator episode?
I love your guts!
For those of you who aren't here yet in your parenting journey, the good news is that while in some ways the stakes are higher, parenting older kids is far less physically and mentally draining. It is a life of mentoring, facing my control issues, and more self-control than I have ever had to exercise in my life. It is also really fun, and getting to do things and go places the whole family enjoys is awesome. We genuinely love being a family, and I am trying to soak that feeling up every day, while it's here.
This has been a sneak peek into my life. I have to go make dinner and age...
